Our Team

TOm

CArter

Tom has been working in the outdoors since 2010 but playing in the outdoors since he was a young boy.  Inspired by the mountains in the Lake District he began mountaineering and climbing in his teens.

He flippin' loves an adventure!

A few years at Bangor University showed him that his heart lay firmly in the mountains and not in the libraries and laboratories where he should have been studying!

Nomad is the product of this passion for being outside and sharing the wonders of nature.  With an interest in helping people fulfill their potential and a fascination with ancient traditions and story, it truly is a potent blend!

Tom brings together the best parts of formal outdoor education and slaps a liberal coating of alternative and holistic charm on top.  During your Nomad he will be guiding you through every aspect of the journey, physically as we meander through the mountains, and mentally as we journey within. Tom's passion and commitment is what makes Nomad so powerful.

Rich Griffiths Hughes

Rich first got involved with the outdoors in his early 20’s, after a trainee year at a centre in Cornwall, followed with completing a degree in Sport & Exercise Science and Outdoor Activities at the University of Leeds.

He then moved back to his native North Wales and worked for over 6 years as an Outdoor Activity Development Officer, all the while spending any spare moment climbing, hillwalking, kayaking and canoeing, gaining numerous National Governing Body awards along the way. Rich now works full time for his own company, Môn Active. They provide outdoor activities, coach education and first aid training.

Rich has a wealth of outdoor safety qualifications and first aid knowledge under his belt and as a result is a comforting character to have around!  He is truly the Swiss army knife of the team!

During the Nomad journey Rich will be keeping a keen eye on everyone as we navigate through the challenges and the landscape.  He also has the gift of knowing something about everything and is the source of much fireside conversation!
